CNWE NB invites women and men interested in equality and social justice to join us for our annual January gathering. We will meet at the home of member Anne Brennan, 218 Marlborough Drive, Fredericton on Saturday 14 January from 10:00 to 4:00.
Our guest for the morning is Pat Carlson. Pat was executive director of the Fredericton Emergency Shelter and the Grace House women’s shelter for twelve years before founding “Changes.” Changes is a store that sells quality, pre-owned goods. But more importantly, Changes is an organization that provides an opportunity for anyone serious about wanting to change their lives to learn the basics about maintaining a job. Changes is managed by staff who have experience working with people who have struggled to maintain employment. Pat will speak about her commitment to those who lives on the margins of Fredericton society and how others can support her in this work.
Lunch will be a potluck feast.
In the afternoon we will organize for our Purple Stole Vigil which will take place this year on Tuesday 3 April 2012 in front of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Saint John.
As always, we welcome new participants to join us in a day that will include prayer, fellowship, great food, and inspiring conversation!
