The Seed Keepers

A Publication of the Catholic Network for Women’s Equality (CNWE)

Réseau Catholique pour l ’égalité des femmes

The Seed Keepers is CNWE’s newsletter, which was published seasonally until Winter 2023. Currently, it is not being published.

Seed Keepers is full of members’ stories of ‘being the change we seek’ in the world.

The name, The Seed Keepers was inspired by the friendship of Canadian author and activist, Maude Barlow and Indian environmental activist, Vandana Shiva. When gifting a book about her work in protecting seed biodiversity, Vandana Shiva said to Maude Barlow “from one seed keeper to another”. In 2004, CNWE adopted this as the title for our seasonal publication. Through our words and work, we strive to be “seed keepers” of truth, justice and equality for women in the Catholic Church, in the world, and for all creation.
