On Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Boniface Cathedral in Winnipeg, all were welcome to gather and pray for the October 2024 Synod in Rome.

We who were present prayed that this Synod would be a transformative experience of God’s gracious presence and action among us.

We prayed in solidarity with four members of the Catholic Network for Women’s Equality (CNWE) who will travel to Rome as an “extramural’ presence in Rome, and with all Synod delegates.

This pilgrimage to Rome will

“highlight women’s presence and participation in the Catholic Church”

as we pray for women’s full inclusion in all ministries of the church, including ordination.

We gathered at the steps of the Cathedral and made our way to four sites in the cemetery grounds that are emblematic of the contributions of women to the church and to the world.

The event concluded at the St. Boniface Heritage Garden, where we all shared a picnic lunch.
